2023
#12: Chicago Marathon - October (3:37:44)
Consistent summer training, a comeback. For the first time I thought maybe I have a shot at BQ. Structured a year long training plan to slowly build and safely be able to handle the volume.

A run of a lifetime to BQ. The only video I have and the only video I need. Seeing the work pay off was the best feeling. Knowing I had done it. I handled 50-70 mile weeks. And qualified.

#15: Boston Marathon - April (3:33:04)
Got absolutely rocked. Finished this race and was just proud I finished. I had to dig the deepest I’ve probably ever dug. I finished the race and my first thought was being proud of myself for being done. A full circle moment from my first marathon. Normal people don’t run marathons. And normal people certainly don’t BQ and run Boston. That’s a wrap. For now.

And now I coach. 15 marathons and decades of loving this sport. I know firsthand what it’s its like to put in the work and watch it pay off.
